Linn Park Needs Investment to Match Its Potential

Reform UK's Kim Schmullian has called on Glasgow City Council to commit to renewed investment in Linn Park, one of the Glasgow Cathcart constituency's most treasured green spaces, after residents raised concerns about the upkeep of the park's facilities.

Linn Park — a large woodland park on the banks of the White Cart Water in the south of the constituency — is beloved by residents across Cathcart, Simshill, and Croftfoot. However, some residents have reported deterioration in park facilities including paths, signage, and amenity buildings.

Schmullian said: "Linn Park is a genuine natural treasure — the waterfall, the woodland walks, the open spaces — it is a place that brings real joy to thousands of local families. But it needs investment to be maintained to the standard it deserves. We cannot allow this asset to deteriorate through neglect."

She is calling for a dedicated maintenance and improvement programme for Linn Park, funded through Scottish Government park investment grants, to restore and enhance the park's facilities for future generations.

"Green spaces like Linn Park are not a luxury — they are essential to the health and wellbeing of local communities. Reform UK will fight for the investment needed to keep them in excellent condition," she said.
