Background
Kim has lived in the southside of Glasgow for over 30 years. A lawyer by profession, Kim is a graduate of Glasgow and Edinburgh universities. She worked in criminal and social welfare law before undertaking a masters in commercial law and working in water regulation and planning. Later in her career, Kim took on more managerial and chief executive roles, focusing on strategy and operational delivery. Kim is a qualified mediator and has held two public appointments in health and patient care.
She has also found time to take on numerous charitable roles. A former trustee of Merchants House of Glasgow, Kim has volunteered at her local hospice in Bellahouston working on the cafe floor and in the kitchen, undertaken free mediations for Strathclyde university’s mediation project, and is currently a trustee of the St Matthews Centre in Possilpark. This charity works to help eliminate social exclusion in the Possilpark area. Early in her career, Kim provided a weekly legal advice clinic to street prostitutes in Glasgow at Base 75, and appeared in court for them.
Kim has been married for 33 years and has 3 grown up children. In her spare time she loves to follow Formula 1 and attend race weekends when she can. That apart, she also enjoys gardening, the cinema, and her two cats.
She does not see herself as a politician, but feels Holyrood needs Reform, in every sense of the word! More scrutiny of legislation is required in committee, and members from all parties need to find a way, and a will, to work better together.
Why I'm Standing
I am standing to represent Glasgow Cathcart and Pollok because this constituency reflects both the strengths and the challenges facing modern Glasgow. From the established suburban communities of Kings Park, Simshill and Croftfoot to the wider neighbourhoods of Pollok, Priesthill, Nitshill and Castlemilk, people want safer streets, reliable local services, access to opportunity and a stronger voice in how their communities are run. Too often, decisions affecting local residents are made without meaningful accountability or visible improvement on the ground.
I am standing for Reform UK to bring a practical, community focused approach to representation, one that prioritises better value for taxpayers, investment in frontline services such as GP access and policing, and support for regeneration that delivers real results rather than promises. This constituency deserves representation that listens, challenges where necessary and works consistently for every neighbourhood across the area, not just parts of it.
Above all, I am standing to ensure the people of Cathcart and Pollok have a strong voice at Holyrood that focuses on common sense solutions, fairness between communities and restoring confidence that government can work in the interests of local residents.
